California Proposition 65 (Prop 65)

A Note from us about Prop 65: Prop 65 is a California law requiring businesses to warn consumers against products that may contain quantifiable amounts of over nine-hundred possible chemicals. Prop 65 among a plethora of other products includes ginger, turmeric and cinnamon as products known to contain lead. Prop 65 lead limits can greatly vary from that which is recommended by the EPA’s “No Significant Risk Levels”, and can be vague and misleading to consumers. Lead is a naturally occuring material in some soils and plants. No tampering or adulteration is performed on our products. We are under obligation to disclose Proposition 65 to you, as are 1,000’s of other retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers that post similar warnings. You may notice other companies without warnings and ask why does La Selva Beach? The answer is simply that we are compliant and have implemented the law. We confidently sell our products in California, and want to continue to do so with full transparency.
